At present, on June 9 every year, and enlightening PR campaign about the oral health
is performed centering around a dentist organization. It is a meaningful work to
investigate and establish when the oral health function began, through which course and
how it have been changed and developed within the Korean peninsula, to think over its
value and significance and to grope for the future course. The first oral health function
was the 「Day for preventing decayed tooth」 initiated by the Hansung Dentist
Assembly on June 4, 1928, which might be regarded as the frrst instance of the oral
health function.
The oral health function based on June 9 like these days was formally put into
practice after the Chosun Dentist Association was founded(1945) after liberation to
establish an 「Oral Health Emphasis Week」 from June 9 to 15, 1946 for first time.
